Facebook has a function to create a fund raiser for special occasions or any time you wish.  You can designate Mid Cities Modern Quilters to raise money for our guild.  You can specify a target amount you want to raise and your friends on Facebook will see the opportunity for them to contribute.  Frequently, people will designate a charity for donations in lieu of gifts for special occasions.
